Is it possible to import partial data from a database dump into the Matomo database?

Unfortunately it’s not possible to restore specific or partial data into an existing or already running Matomo database.

If you have a backup of your database and need to access the reports or raw tracking data that is stored in the backup, you will need to restore the entire database into a new Matomo installation.

Once you have restored the Matomo database into a new Matomo installation/server you can use the migration tool to move a specific websites data to your main Matomo installation.
Please note that this will migrate the data into a new “Website” or “Measurable” in your Matomo server, and will not combine the data with the data that is already present for that website.
