AWStats Discontinued: What you need to know

AWStats has been discontinued by its original author. Version 8.0 (released in December 2024) is the last official release of AWStats.

This means there will be no new features or updates from the original maintainer going forward (any future updates would rely on community efforts, which are uncertain). In short, if you continue using AWStats, you will not receive official support or updates to address bugs, compatibility with new log formats, or security issues. This is why AWStats users are now looking for alternative solutions to continue getting up-to-date web analytics.
