How do I prevent Matomo cache file changes to show up in Ninja Firewall
If you are using the Ninja Firewall WordPress plugin, you may notice that Matomo cache files can show up as part of the list of changed files. Here’s an example image of what it might look like:
To workaround this follow these steps:
- click on the “Delete snapshot” button in NinjaFirewall -> Monitoring
- modify the list of files and folders to exclude and append “
,/wp-content/cache/matomo/
“. It is important you also append the leading comma. If the “wp-content/cache
” directory is not writable in your Matomo, the directory you need to exclude may be “,/wp-content/uploads/matomo/tmp
“. The Matomo system report will show you which “tmp directory” is actually used. - click on “Create snapshot”
- from now on these files should no longer show up
