How do I increase the limit of automatic form creation in Form Analytics?
Form Analytics can automatically detect and register forms on your website to help you get started quickly with form tracking. There is a default limit to how many forms are automatically created.
Depending on your setup, you may want to increase the limit to track more forms automatically; or you want to reduce or disable it to focus only on specific forms. In some cases, tracking too many forms can make reports harder to interpret and increase data collection.
This guide explains how automatic form creation works and how to adjust the limit for your Matomo installation.
Change the automatic form creation limit (On-Premise)
By default, Form Analytics automatically detects and registers a limited number of forms per site:
- In Matomo On-Premise, up to 10 forms per site. This limit can be changed in General settings.
- In Matomo Cloud, up to 3 forms per site. This limit is fixed and cannot be changed.
Once the limit is reached, no additional forms are created automatically. Additional forms will need to be created manually in Matomo.
- In Matomo, go to Administration
> System > General settings.
- Scroll to the Form Analytics section.
- Update the setting Create Forms Automatically to change the limit.
When this setting is enabled, Matomo automatically registers a new form (up to the limit) whenever it detects one on your website.
You can disable automatic form creation if you prefer to track only specific forms or reduce the amount of data collected and stored. When this setting is disabled, only forms that you create and configure manually are tracked.
