Is it complicated to set up the tracking of Heatmaps and Session Recordings?

No. You simply need to set up the Heatmap and Session Recording in Matomo before data is collected. You do not usually need to change your website or tracking code, provided the standard Matomo tracking code is already installed on the target pages.
After you create and activate a Heatmap or Session Recording, Matomo checks each tracked pageview against the configured target page rules. If the page matches, Matomo records the relevant heatmap or session recording activity.
