Creating an account
You will need to create an account on our store https://shop.matomo.org to purchase the license key. It is not possible to obtain a license key without creating an account on our store. This requires an email address.

When a license is purchased, the license string and the invoice will be emailed to the registered email address. If you register with your customer’s email address, the customer will receive the license key and the invoice.

If you are purchasing licenses for multiple instances (more than one Matomo installation), you will need to create a separate account for each customer. Using the same email address for different customers will disable the licenses for all customers. License keys being shared across multiple installations is a breach of our licensing conditions. Payment options
You can purchase premium features using the following methods:

  • Credit card
  • Paypal
  • Manual wire payments (see conditions below)

We do not accept manual payments for values less than 2000 EUR/USD (No exceptions)
This same policy applies for a renewal or a new subscription. If the value is less than 2000 EUR/USD, you may purchase for multiple years to reach the 2000 EUR/USD threshold.

Manual Payments (Bank transfer)
Manual payments will only be accepted for values over 2000 EUR/USD. Should your purchase exceed this value, we will produce an invoice with the bank details for payment. We will require a postal address. We accept purchase orders. We will need to know which plugins you require, along with the user level.

Purchase orders (PO)
If you supply a purchase order number, we will activate the license key immediately. The invoice will need to be paid within 30 working days for uninterrupted service.

License tier
Each plugin has a license tier: 0–4 users, 5–15 users, and unlimited users. The license tier is the number of registered users in the Matomo instance. It is not possible to restrict the license to individual users or groups. If the Matomo Analytics instance has 5 or more users, it will require a 5–15 user or unlimited user license.

Reseller discounts
There are no reseller discounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

If my customer has the login details to the Marketplace account, can they see purchases and CC details?
Yes.

How do I avoid my customers seeing the purchase and accessing the account?
Register with your own email address and purchase the license. The license key and invoice will then be emailed to you. Forward only the license key to your customer for installation. Once the customer has the license key, they do not need to access the account. You are responsible for renewing the features; otherwise, the customer would lose access to the features a few weeks after their subscription expires.

Does my customer require the login details to access and install the plugins?
No, once the license key has been issued, you can forward the license key to your customer. That’s all they require to download and use the software.
Your customer can activate the plugins in their Matomo by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your Matomo and go to “Administration => Marketplace
  2. Copy / paste the license key into the license field at the top of the page and click “Activate”

  3. The key will now be activated and you will see a couple of new buttons.

  4. To install the premium feature(s) you just purchased in one click, simply click on “Install purchased plugins”.

  5. And that’s it. The installation of a premium feature is as easy as copy/pasting the license key and clicking a button.

Because one license key is linked to all purchased premium features, you only need to enter the license key once. The next time you purchase a premium feature, you will simply need to click on “Install purchased plugins” to have it up and running.

My customer has lost the license key, how do we get another copy?
Login to the Marketplace account, select “Downloads”, scroll to the bottom of the screen. The license key can be revealed by clicking on “Click to show your license key”.

After the purchase is complete can we change the registered email address to my customer’s email address?
Yes you can. However, 30 days prior to the renewal, an email will be sent to the registered email address with the details of the upcoming renewal, including the cost of the subscription.

How do I cancel the auto renewal?
To cancel the renewal visit your account page at (https://shop.matomo.org/my-account/), and select My Subscription and then select Cancel. The plugin will be cancelled 60 days after the end of the subscription (1 year from purchase + 60 days) if not renewed.

Our company policy is to not create accounts or use emails when making purchases
Unfortunately, it is not possible to purchase a license without creating an account with a valid email.

We have several customers, do we need to create an account for each of them?
Yes, sharing a key between multiple instances will cause the license key to be cancelled. Some email systems allow the use of + in the email address. You could possibly use billing+customername@resellername.com for example to create additional accounts. Check with your IT department first.

Is Matomo known by another name?
Your systems may also have “InnoCraft” as a company name.

How do we make a bank payment?
Should your purchase exceed 2000 EUR/USD we will supply an invoice with the bank details. You can also pay by SEPA bank transfer in our store (for EU countries).

Where else can the plugins be purchased?
The plugins can only be purchased from Matomo, there are no other suppliers.

What happens if the plugin does not renew?
60 days after the subscription ends, the plugin is disabled.

Will I get spam or promotional emails if I register my email address?
The email address used to register the account will receive
1. a renewal warning 30 days prior to an upcoming renewal.
2. if the renewal has not been paid, a failed payment warning, then 3 emails warning of the upcoming disabling of license key and access to features. (if the renewal has not been paid).

Can I stop any emails coming to the registered address?
No. These emails are related to your account and can not be suspended.

Where can I find bank details for payments?
Bank deposit details will be supplied on each individual invoice. If your invoice does not contain bank details, it might be because the amount is below our minimum threshold for bank payments 2000EUR/USD.

You are based in New Zealand but have supplied bank details for another country, why is that?
To make payments easier for other countries, we have set up bank accounts with Wise. These bank accounts let us receive payments in USD and EUR (and support IBAN numbers).

What currencies do you accept?
We accept USD or EURO currencies.

How is the license delivered?
When the license is purchased, an email is sent to the registered email address. The license is a special string of characters that you can forward to your customers.

How do we upgrade or renew a customer’s license?
The license is bound to your Marketplace account email. To upgrade or renew a license, you will need the email and password that was used to purchase the license originally. If you don’t know this you will need to supply as much identifiable information as possible so we can attempt to find the account.
For example:

  • End user name
  • End user company
  • Purchase Date
  • Invoice number

If an existing account cannot be found, you can purchase a new license and issue your customer with the new license key.

How will the license get transferred to the end user?
Please supply the end user details and we will add these to the billing details of the subscription. We will also need the email used to create the account.

What version of the license will be supplied?
The latest version is only available, check the plugin page for the current version. During the subscription any updates are included.

What operating system does the license support?
The plugin is not OS dependent. The plugin is compatible with the version of Matomo displayed in the plugin page.

What is the license period yearly/perpetual?
The subscription price is based on yearly renewal

What is the license based on users or installations?
We have 3 levels of license, 0-4 users, 5-15 users and unlimited users. A user is a single registered user on the Matomo. The license can not be restricted to specific users. One license can be used on a production instance and development instance.
