How do I stop recording further heatmap or session recording activities?

If you want to stop the recording of any activities before the configured limit is reached, go to Heatmaps > Manage or Session Recordings > Manage and click on the stop icon in the Actions column.

Stopping a heatmap or session recording immediately prevents Matomo from collecting any new data for that item. Existing heatmap data and recorded sessions remain available for analysis and are not deleted. If you want to collect more data later, you can create a new heatmap or session recording.
