Head of Marketing

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Head of Marketing to lead our marketing initiatives in an exciting and rapidly growing B2B Tech business. Our marketing strategies centre around our customer, focussing on empowering them to discover the value of our privacy friendly open source analytics product, Matomo. Matomo was developed to empower marketing professionals to draw insights and to make data-driven decisions to optimize their digital presence.

As the Head of Marketing, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our marketing strategies to lead our accelerated growth. You will be responsible for managing and adding capability to a team of marketing professionals. We want our Head of Marketing to actively participate in the execution of some of the marketing initiatives.

This duality requires a versatile marketer who can provide strategic direction, drive creative campaigns, and roll up their sleeves to get hands-on with execution. As the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for leading and driving our global marketing strategy, brand development, and demand generation efforts. You will play a critical role in shaping our brand image, and understanding our target markets so that you can guide and direct us on how to best position the Matomo product in the market mid and long term.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to drive customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth
  • Conduct market research, analyse industry trends, and identify target segments to inform marketing strategies
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Support, to align marketing initiatives with business objectives
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns

Execution and Campaign Management

  • Lead the creation and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including email marketing, content marketing, social media, SEO/SEM, and events
  • Develop compelling marketing messages and positioning that resonates with target audiences
  • Oversee the production of marketing collateral, including website content, whitepapers, case studies, and sales enablement materials
  • Utilise marketing automation tools and platforms to streamline campaign execution and monitor performance

Brand Development

  • Build on, enhance and manage our brand’s identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and materials
  • Develop a deep understanding of our target market and customer personas to tailor messaging and branding efforts
  • Drive thought leadership initiatives, including speaking engagements, industry partnerships, and content creation

Team Management and Development

Development and Management of the Marketing Budget

  • Work with the executive team to develop and manage the marketing budget
  • Ensure that resources are allocated appropriately to drive maximum ROI

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies in a B2B tech environment
  • Strong background in executing successful marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Experience and some understanding in web analytics and SaaS open-source would be beneficial
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in marketing analytics and data-driven decision making
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and online advertising
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with senior executives
  • Experience in EU markets (has run campaigns, projects, partnership programs, etc there)
  • Growth marketing mindset & experience in growth experiments
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in Hubspot
  • Hands-on 
  • (Plus) experience in running worldwide campaigns
